Elementary Classroom Teacher     Full-Time Position: 190 days/year
 
Job Summary: Teachers at Polaris Charter School create a joyful and exciting learning community where intellectually curious students are empowered to reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and creatively. In this position, you will foster a love of learning while working with a class of 16 students ages 9-11 utilizing personal learning plans and a project-oriented, interdisciplinary curriculum that allows students to advance based on subject mastery.

Applicants must also submit a written response to two of the following three questions:
 

  • How would you arrange a multi-age classroom that helps all students to thrive?

  • What does inter-disciplinary, project-based education mean to you?  In your response, include examples from your own experience.

  • What special strengths, talents and background experiences might you bring to Polaris Charter School?

Paraeducator: Part-Time Position: 30 hrs/week Salary Commensurate with Experience

 

Job Summary:
 

  • Under the direction of the case manager, provide one-to-one academic assistance within the regular education classroom

  • Assist/monitor behavioral goals by collecting data and accompanying the student throughout the school day.

 

Must have a high school diploma.  College coursework is desirable. Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting or any equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
